Collective's First Expo

Whew! Ego Expo 2022 has been wrapped up and the third-largest streetwear & lifestyle expo to celebrate urban street culture in Australia has come to an end (*insert sad face).

It wasn’t our first show, and it definitely won’t be our last.

Founded in April 2017, with a purpose to unite Australian street culture and its many communities, Ego Expo showcases the melting pot of creativity, passion and drive coming from Australia’s independent business owners, designers, artists, talent, and athletes.

Since the beginning Ego Expo has changed its location and shaken up the different parts of Melbourne.

This year we took that leap forward and transitioned the event over to Melbourne’s Heritage Meat Market venue, amongst the ever-changing restrictions and the shift towards a post-covid world.

It was undoubtedly going to be a challenge for the show’s third year, but we did it, and we did it loudly.

Over the weekend, the event hosted basketball competitions, dance competitions, 7 live artist performances, prizes, giveaways, fashion runways and two curated industry talk panels (If you were there, this shouldn’t be news to you).

If you missed out, I really don’t know what to say…

We had guest appearances like Coolio (Cue Gangsta’s Paradise please!), Tarryn Thomas, Omar Dean (Complete fangirl moment), Shayne Tino, Beza Mickan-White, Maxine Wylde and so much more.

The runway shows were seriously out of this world.

7 of our amazing brands got awards and our incredibly funny live entertainment team; The Disruption Entertainment captured interviews with a bunch of cool-io people (See what I did there?), you can watch them on our YouTube Channel.

As the event secures itself within the Melbourne (and Australian) community, the team can’t wait to test the unlimited talent potential we have right here in our own backyards.

Ego Expo allows people who may feel alone in the entrepreneurial process to connect with like-minded individuals and business owners.

It truly is the gateway of networking opportunities.

From just an idea to reality, Ego Expo has created a platform for street culture enthusiasts and new business opportunities by paving a way for positive community engagement, unique business collaborations and a supportive industry network that leaves their egos at the door.
